For this editorial project, I was tasked with creating a cover and several page spread for an article titled 'Lovely Grub'. Implementing pull quotes and curating the text around negative space and imagery to maintain visual interest were some of the challenges I faced.

I challenged myself by combining both illustrations and stock imagery. To do this I added a halftone effect onto my photos, giving them the look of printed comics and made my illustrations mimic mid-1900's cartoons. By combining these early 20th century techniques with old pizza diner visuals, to achieve this nostalgic viewing experience to draw in the reader.
